Contact lines

Whether high-speed lines, metro and light rail systems, tunnels or maintenance depots: the proven solutions from Rail Power Systems are used successfully everywhere. We develop, plan and assemble turnkey contact line systems in both standard and customised versions, consistently focusing on the project and solution – whether overhead line or conductor rail contact installation. Low maintenance requirements and compliance with EU standards for railway applications are always a priority. Our all-in-one package includes the design, installation, testing and securing of earthing and return circuits.

Our systems

Overhead contact line systems for long-distance transport:

  • Re100 and Re200 standard overhead contact line (SOL) for speeds of up to 200 km/h on main and secondary tracks
  • Re250 and Re330 high-speed overhead contact line (HOL) for speeds of up to 330 km/h on main tracks and up to 360 km/h on main tracks in the European high-speed network

Overhead contact line systems for local transport:

  • Up to 60 km/h for light rail, single overhead contact line without catenary wire with tunnel solutions
  • Up to over 100 km/h for light rail systems
  • Up to over 160 km/h for urban railways

Special solutions for overhead contact line systems:

  • Contact wire lifting equipment for level crossings, lift bridges, loading systems, depots
  • Overhead conductor rail (OCR) up to 250 km/h for tunnel equipment with hinged cantilever or hanging support
  • (Swivelling) overhead conductor rail up to 25 km/h for maintenance halls, aluminium conductor rail with copper grooved contact wire
  • Expansion joint devices, point machines and conductor rail supports made of steel or insulating glass fibre reinforced plastic for the 3rd rail in local and long-distance transport
