Load flow study for the electrification of the Talgangbahn railway line
Project details
Client: Zweckverband Regional-Stadtbahn Neckar-Alb
Albstadt-Ebingen - Albstadt-Onstmettingen, Germany
October 2025 – October 2025

The study examined the power requirements for the Albstadt-Ebingen to Albstadt-Onstmettingen line. Currently, the line is single-track and operated as an island operation. However, there are plans to connect one side of the line to an electrified DB line in the future. The aim of the study was to estimate the power requirements of the line as a basis for dimensioning the feeding converter and other operating equipment, as well as to check the voltage stability in compliance with the voltage limits according to EN 50163.
